HOW DO I DO THAT

Trying hard to find the words to say good-bye to my Grandma but they just aren't coming to me tonight. How do you sum up the life of a woman who has meant so much to me and my family? Even though she's joyously basking in the glow of her Savior right now, with a completely healed body, I'm going to miss her terribly.

Pictures may be worth more than words. Here are two of my favorites.

REGROWTH

For those of you who are concerned....Sam's eyebrow is looking more like itself again. One good thing about bushy, black eyebrows are that they grow back quickly. Hallelujah!!

PRESIDENT'S DAY

Yesterday at church, we had an interesting speaker. His name was Michael Franzese and he was a former member of the mob. I bought his book and as usual when I get interested in a book, I have a hard time putting it down until I'm done. At the end of his, he has a few chapters devoted to the reliability of the Bible and the indisputable evidence of God (these things were very important to him due to his background).

Some of the quotes he had in his book I had never heard. They are from former president's of this great country and they are about the Bible. I don't know how after reading these anyone can say, regardless of their own personal beliefs, that this is not a country founded on Christian principles or that the founding fathers meant to keep God out of government. (Their true intention was to keep the government out of the church but that is a post for another day!!).

All this to say, I'm glad I finished the book so I could read these quotes today on President's Day and share them with you. Hope you find them as encouraging, inspiring, and interesting as I did.

"It is not possible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."
-George Washington

"I say to you, search the Scriptures! The Bible is the book of all others, to be read at all ages, and in all conditions of human life; not to be read once, twice or thrice through, and then laid aside, but to be read in small portions of one or two chapters every day, and never to be intermittent, unless by some overruling necessity." -John Quincy Adams

"The Bible is the rock on which our republic rests." -Andrew Jackson

"I am profitably engaged in reading the Bible. Take all of this book upon reason that you can and the balance by faith, and you will live and die a better man. I believe that the Bible is the best gift God has given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through the Book." -Abraham Lincoln

"The best religion the world has ever known is the religion of the Bible. It builds up all that is good." -Rutherford B. Hayes

"The more profoundly we study this wonderful Book, and the more closely we observe it's divine precepts, the better citizens we will become and the higher will be our destiny as a nation." -William McKinley

"I plead for a closer and wider and deeper study of the Bible, so that our people may be in fact as well as theory 'doers of the Word and not hearers only.'" -Theodore Roosevelt

"The whole inspiration of our civilization springs from the teachings of Christ and the lessons of the prophets. To read the Bible for these fundamentals is a necessity of American life."
-Herbert Hoover

"Within the covers of the Bible are all the answers for all the problems men face. The Bible can touch hearts, order minds, and refresh souls."
-Ronald Reagan

GOOD RIDDANCE....

(My name is Sam Park and I approved this message.)

My wonderful, awesome, loving husband shaved his eyebrow off last week. Yeah, I thought that would get your attention. Why you may ask? Well, at least you are asking instead of wailing, "Why, why, why?" like I did!!

Evidently he had a wild hair (literally!). He used his new nose hair clippers (Ewww!) to trim the offensive hair and got a little carried away.

You have to understand....eyebrows are sacred (not literally) in this house. There is one thing I agree with Oprah about and that is eyebrows. She says that a good pluck, wax, trim is almost as good as a face lift and I totally agree!! Well-groomed eyebrows really open up the face....they can even make one look younger!! When the budget allows, the first place I go is to see the eyebrow czar of Omaha!!

But I'm getting off subject.....

I have always groomed Sam's brows. No uni brow here!! I have waxed them, plucked them, trimmed them!! He thinks this whole thing is funny. (I don't!) In fact, he even told me that no one at work even said anything about them. I ALMOST didn't have the heart to tell him that his employees said (laughed, mocked, joked) plenty about them only just not to his one-eyebrowed face!! He also said he was just going to pencil it in......uh not in this lifetime!!

So why did he do this?? I blame January. So glad that the darkest, dreariest month of snuggie wearing, crawling on bathroom floors, and living with a one eyebrowed man is over. Oh wait....I guess I'll be living with the aforementioned man for awhile.

Anyone know how to make eyebrows grow faster??
