As far as the Huskers go it looks like it is going to be awhile before we are back. Last night as we were leaving the game (at the end of the 3rd quarter, which we have never done before), Sam said, "We should have known our defense isn't that good when a running back who has never played defense can switch positions, start for our team, and be one of the best players." I guess we will just have to suffer through this year and hope for better days ahead. My problem is trying not to buy into Sam's ever-optimistic view that we are always going to win. He always gets me to thinking that it is possible even when I, as a realist, know that it isn't!!
As far as politics go, I'm trying to support McCain but I just feel no excitement for him whatsoever. If I didn't honestly believe that electing a snake-charmer like B.O. is so dangerous to the future of our country I don't think I would even vote this year. I feel like this bumper sticker so aptly says how I'm feeling and I'll apologize in advance to those of you who this will offend.

Galen needs to come live at your house...these are pretty much his sentiments exactly. He couldn't even concentrate at church this morning after last nights game, and as I type this he is torturing himself by talking over every single, horrible detail of the game with his brother...:) We'll take one of those bumper stickers too.
I stand by the possibility that Nebraska could still end up with an 8-4 record this year! Go Big Red! ("You know who" could not recruit and it shows....)
Rhonda you and Sam are ever the eternal optimists!!
I didn't comment on the politics part of your blog entry. My thoughts are still the same as they were in February. One thing McCain did right was choose a great running mate in Sarah Palin. I just don't know if she is going to be able to save the ticket or not.
"I'm still going to vote in November. I might have to hold my nose while doing it." Rhonda Holmes, 2/1/2008
Rhonda, You don't have to vote in your bathroom. Most cities have places you can go vote. :-)
Rhonda - I agree with your quote about voting. :)
Sam - I can't believe you said that! LOL
Sherilyn - Ditto about the bumper sticker! :( Now McCain says he would add Al Gore to his cabinet. I tend to think if B.O. would get elected the repulicans might unite against him.
Can't wait to see you all at the wedding!

It's a good thing 2008 is almost over! =]
The Huskers have to win every single game from here on out in order to come back and have a decent season.
I have not been keeping track of my team (The Texas Longhorns) because I'm knee deep in politics and just don't have the time. (That and I'm trying to beat the high score on The Word Challenge! lol)
There is a lot to be thankful for when I look at John McCain and Sarah Palin and who they bring to their team as compared to Barack Obama and Joe Biden and who they bring to their team.
There is no way I can vote for somebody that wants to put more government in my face and take more of my money. No Way! Take a peak at my blog but don't be alarmed when you read it. lol
In any case, I'm not offended by what you wrote and people reading that may not agree with you shouldn't feel offended. Keep blogging!! Write what's on your mind. You're allowed to change it later on if you want to.
I'm really enjoying reading everybody's blogs. Especiall peeps I know from church. (Here I thought I was the lone blogging ranger!)
I agree with Rhonda, a couple big wins this year and the Huskers have a chance at 8-4. I will continue watching on tv and looking for improvement.
Nebraska could have easily beaten Missouri this past week. All they needed was a few extra bounces, more touchdowns, better defense, better tackling, better offensive line, fewer Missouri players, more huskers on the field, and a little luck. If that would of happened, Missouri would have been toast.
Seeing the words "Texas Longhorn fan" on your blog comments is like watching an Obama ad on tv.
